Welcome to Calm Yoga,

My name is Sara and I am the owner of Calm Yoga. I first discovered yoga in my early 20s, practicing at home with Yoga with Adriene on YouTube. What began as a personal exploration quickly grew into a passion, leading me to local classes in my hometown of Portadown. It was my teacher, Cher, who encouraged me to deepen my understanding by completing my 200-hour Yoga Teacher Training with Paddy at Santosha in Lisburn.

I began teaching during the challenges of the pandemic, offering classes for local gyms, studios, and community/charity programmes. As a long-time member of Yoga Quarter since moving to Belfast, it felt natural to reach out to Susan — which led to my Saturday 8:15 a.m. Hatha class, launched in August 2023.

My classes are designed to be inclusive, accessible, and welcoming to all bodies and levels of experience. I keep my teaching style lighthearted and supportive, blending Hatha and Vinyasa with inspiration from other movement practices I enjoy — including Pilates, Calisthenics, and Strength Training. No two classes are ever quite the same: you might experience extended Yoga Nidra sessions, restorative poses, or playful flows. Above all, my focus is on helping students cultivate a deeper awareness of their own bodies, encouraging self-compassion and choice in every practice.
